SLAM is honored to be one of several organizations selected by the U.S. Department of Education to receive funding through the Charter Schools Program for the Replication and Expansion of High-Quality Charter Schools. SLAM’s application received the highest score in this year’s national cohort, earning 115 out of a possible 121 points.
The nearly $8 million grant will support the expansion of four SLAM campuses in Florida, helping create nearly 4,000 new student seats over the next five years. This program is designed to help high-performing charter school networks grow in communities where demand for quality public school options is strong.
We are deeply grateful for this investment, which affirms the importance of expanding access to high-quality education in communities where it is most needed. This support allows us to reach more students with SLAM’s academic and career academy model, which integrates rigorous academics with real-world learning experiences.
SLAM remains committed to advancing educational equity, especially for students from underserved backgrounds. Today, SLAM serves close to 10,000 students across 14 public charter schools in five states. Our schools are rooted in the belief that all students—regardless of zip code—deserve the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.
This milestone reflects the shared efforts of our educators, families, students, and community partners. As we look ahead, we do so with renewed purpose and gratitude for the continued support that makes our mission possible.
